Important Spotlight Update

Dear Spotlight Families,

We hope you are well and safe. We miss each and every one of you so much and are so grateful for your patience and support as we navigate this ever changing environment. We want to thank you for your kind emails and text messages.

Over the last two weeks we have been providing activities, videos and opportunities to interact. We even offered our first live class on Thursday evening and it was a great success! In keeping with the stay at home order for the state of Ohio we will continue with this format until we are allowed to open the studio for classes. We want to keep our kids – your kids moving – Consistency is so important and we want to continue to provide that.

We would love it if you:

1.    Keep Active – It’s good for you and keeps you healthy!
2.    Review your Recital Piece – The show will go on!
3.    Have fun and interact with us when time allows.
We miss you!

We will continue to provide materials and tools so that you may choose what works and applies to your dancer or gymnast. There is no requirement to “keep up” with everything we send or post.

As we approach April we realize that all of our families are affected differently by the current situation and we are providing the following options.

1.    Full tuition payment as normal, through the online portal or by mailing at check to the Spotlight.

2.    Partial tuition on an as needed basis, please contact us so that we may invoice your account accordingly.

3.    Full tuition paid through the online portal or by mailing a check, plus pay it forward. By using the link below you can provide an additional donation that may be used to help Spotlight families that need it.

*For those families on auto pay, the Spotlight will not be processing payments on April 5th unless we have heard from you.

By choosing one of the above options you will help support small business. In turn we can support our staff – your wonderful teachers, and other Spotlight families during a time of uncertainty. The best part is your child can continue to grow in the classes they are taking.

We sincerely appreciate your support,

Miss Katie & Miss Stephanie

Happy New Year to everyone and welcome back! Costumes have been ordered and we are looking forward to our spring recital at the Woodward Opera House on May 22nd & 23rd.

The Spotlight’s Giving Tree & Food for the Hungry Contribution

Thank you to all who donated gloves and hats for our giving tree. The Spotlight was pleased to give many bags full of new gloves and hats to the Salvation Army and Children’s Services before the holiday. The Spotlight was also pleased to announce that the American Girl Doll and Spotlight Bag raffle raised $780 for Food for the Hungry. Thank you again for helping out those in need in our local community. Olivia Heffelfinger was the proud winner of the American Girl Doll, and Bella Evans was the winner of the Spotlight bag.

Eastern Star Nursing Home Performance

Thank you to all dancers and their parents for participating in the 2019 Eastern Star Home performance. The residents enjoyed you sharing your talents with them. It was a lovely addition to their holiday.

The Spotlight’s Teddy Bear Picnic and Spa Party is Coming Soon!

Back by popular demand is the Spotlight’s Teddy Bear Picnic and Spa Party. This year the Spotlight will offer two different parties. The Teddy Bear Picnic will be held on Saturday, March 7th from 10 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. This party will be for children 2, 3, and 4 years old who are students at the Spotlight. The Spa Party will be held on Saturday, March 7th from 1 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. and is for ages 5, 6, and 7. The cost to attend the party is $8 per child. The Teddy Bear Picnic will include a craft, snack, music and dance and lots of fun. Space will be limited and will be filled on a first, come, first serve basis (no spots reserved without payment). Please watch for more details about registration in late January.

Tuition Reminder

Please remember all monthly tuition payments are due by the 10th of the month. Payments not received by the 10th will be charged a $5 late fee. Payments may be turned in at the front desk or mailed to the Spotlight, 685 Harcourt Rd., Mt. Vernon, OH 43050. You may also access your account online and make payments online or sign up at the front desk for automatic withdrawal of your monthly payment.

Please Report All Absences

Spotlight teachers are beginning to work on choreography for the spring recital and would appreciate all parents calling in their child’s absence. Please call 393-2623 and leave a message if your child is unable to attend class.

The Spotlight Closing Due to Inclement Weather

Snowflakes will be falling this winter, we would like to remind everyone of The Spotlight’s cancellation policy. If the studio must close due to inclement weather there will be a recording on the voicemail as well as posted on the website at www.thespotlightcenter.com. Just because schools are closed does not mean The Spotlight will be closed, so please check on days that the weather is questionable. The Spotlight staff will attempt to post any closing by 1 p.m.

Reminder: Class Cancellation Policy

There may be times that we must cancel classes due to weather, our policy provides one ‘cushion day” for each day of the week. This means that each day of the week could have one cancelled day of classes without requiring a makeup lesson. If a certain day’s classes are cancelled more than once, a makeup class will be scheduled.
